pub day

Well, it’s official, Bound South has been released. (Saying it “has been released” makes it sound like some kind of germ or disease, doesn’t it?)

My sister Lauren Myracle, YA author extraordinaire, ran a blog contest today.  Winning prize–a copy of my book. To introduce me to her online peeps, she ran this pic:

That’s me, at 4.  I was a big smoker back then, two packs a day. (jk, of course.)
This picture cracks me up.  I’m thinking about using it as my author pic from now on.

Other things:
Today I hung out with my friend Peter and his two little girls: Keagan, who is 13 months, and Olivia who just turned three.  They were so frickin’ cute! We frolicked on the front lawn with two of Peter’s neighbors, their kids, and their many dogs.  One of the dogs was this hilariously hyper bug-eyed little thing named “Junebug” (yep, after the movie) who kept collecting the tiniest sticks I’d ever seen.  I guess that’s all his mouth could fit around, but it was so funny to me, to see this lil’ dog with his lil’ matchstick sized sticks.

Our dog, incidentally, is named after Clyde Edgerton’s wonderful first novel, Raney.

Lauren told me to stop by your blog and say hi!

    So… um… HI! :)

I saw your book in B&N today- I hope to go back and take a picture of it tomorrow. They had a copy up in the New Fiction display.
