Margaret Mitchell House reading tonight, Feb. 9!

Oh man, today is the day.  Or rather, tonight is the night. I’m reading from Bound South at the Margaret Mitchell house, and my sweet mama has made something like 250 brownies to get to the guests who come.  (Our family is big on incentives for showing up to readings.)

I shouldn’t be nervous.  It’s going to be friends and family at the reading–a warm bubble bath of support.  But I have major, major butterflies in my stomach.  Publication of this book has been a long time coming–but guess what? It’s here.

Think I’ll go to the gym.  That or go to the little community garden near our house and look at the goats and chickens.  There is a baby goat who is soft and sweet and likes for you to rub the back of his neck.  Nothing like hanging out with a goat to ease nerves…

    What a treat!

Ms. White it was a pleasure to meet you! The last time I saw MMH that packed was the night Dr. Sams (also a native son) released his new novel. Congrats on the new novel and I look forward to the next book. PS Loved your mom’s brownies but that baklava was to die for!

Thank you! I had such a fun time at the MMH event. And I was also a big fan of Greg’s pound cake…
